RIDING FOR THE BLUE RE-CAP

July 18, 2020- (Naples, FL): The Riding For The Blue/Support For Law Enforcement Day was a huge success! We had over 175 riders support the Riding For The Blue Charity Poker run and even more supporters at our Support The Blue Rally at Seed To Table! THIS WAS A HUGE SUCESS!

We raised enough through registrations, donations and t-shirt sales to offer 3 more $1,000.00 Robert L. Zore Scholarship’s and 1 more $1,000.00 Adam Jobbers-Miller Scholarship. These scholarships are open for any student in college or attending college with a current or retired LEO in their family, 2.0 GPA or higher, pursuing a degree in criminal justice, or any police or law enforcement field. Students can apply at www.thefallenofficers.com  We will announce the recipients at our Mission 2244 Gala October 16, 2020 at the Naples Grande Resort. www.mission2244gala.com

The event started at Everglades Motorcycles and registration was between 8am-9am and did our Collier and Lee County residents come out at support our Blue and Fallen Officers. We had over 175 riders head out to the next poker stops of Brooks Burgers on the East Trail of Naples, then drove to Landsdowne Street Pub in Bonita Springs and then ended at Seed To Table in Naples. There were 3 winners of the best poker hands and each winner donated their winnings back to the foundation.

At Seed to Table we had an amazing event which included the entrance of the Guns N Hoses Pipe N Drums, Role Call of all the Fallen Officers of Collier and Lee County read by founder Rosemary Zore. We also had the 19th district candidates for Congress speak on behalf of law enforcement. The only candidates that didn’t attend were Casey Askar and Mayor Randy Henderson. Mayor Henderson informed us he couldn’t make the event due to a conflict for a Fallen Officer, Fort Myers Police Officer Andrew Allan Widman who died on July 18, 2008. There was a ceremony today for his family in Fort Myers. We also had Jim Leavens in attendance not only did he ride but also spoke on behalf of law enforcement.
